News and Travel Update - July 2023
After our tour of Northern and Central Europe, we found ourselves in need of a short break to recharge and reestablish our travel mindset. We've spent a considerable amount of time organising and sorting through gigabytes of video and still footage from our journey. This collection is now properly cataloged, and we are diligently working on editing and scripting the content, both for video and photography. Some of it you may have already seen, but there's still plenty more to come.
During this break, we also had the opportunity to reflect on our experiences and plan the next phases of our life in the motorhome. We're excited to share these plans with you and provide an update on what we've been up to since our return from Europe.
So what’s next ?
During our tour, one of our viewers left a supportive comment expressing their enjoyment of the content but also their desire for more dedicated motorhome-specific information. Our videos had been gradually evolving into travelogues, adopting a documentary-style approach that reflected the places we visited and the insights we gained. However, this comment got us thinking.
To gather more input, we decided to run a YouTube Poll on our community tab. The majority of respondents expressed satisfaction with the content, but approximately 30% indicated their interest in seeing more specific advice on using motorhomes, particularly in Europe. This presented us with a personal dilemma since we had intentionally avoided positioning ourselves as experts providing detailed guidance. Perhaps it was a matter of modesty, even though we have travelled through 19 European countries in our own van and might have valuable insights to share. On the other hand, we've never sought advice from unfamiliar individuals, so it seemed unfair to expect our viewers to do so.
Nevertheless, we acknowledge the significance of the 30% who expressed their desire for motorhome-specific information. Consequently, we have decided to give it a try and introduce some motorhome-related content on a trial basis every Tuesday. We're calling it "Five-Minute Tuesday" for now, but the plan is subject to evolution. While we already have some ideas in mind, we think it would be fantastic if some of the topics came from you, our audience. Your input and suggestions would greatly enhance the value and relevance of this new endeavor.
Based on the comments we've received, it's evident that product reviews are not something you're interested in, and we completely understand. Rest assured, we won't venture down that path. If we have purchased something, used it, and genuinely enjoyed it, then we'll be happy to share our positive experiences. However, we won't subject you to reviews of non-motorhome/caravan products that companies have requested us to evaluate. There are other channels out there, like Here We Tow, Caravantastic, and the renowned motorhoming expert Bob Earnshaw, whom we personally follow and who excel in providing comprehensive product reviews. We'll leave that expertise to them.
