Milestones on Our YouTube Channel
Today, we're thrilled to celebrate two significant milestones on our YouTube channel, and we wanted to express our gratitude to you. The numbers aren’t as important as the growth and progress we are making, it provides a purpose and meaning to what we do.
Our journey began in 2017 when I received a camera as a gift. Retirement of course can be quite a transition. and pursuing a hobby is and was recommended. We chose photography, alongside activities like biking, running, and hiking, often from our caravan and eventually our motorhome.
As we embarked on more adventurous travels in our van, the desire to document and share our experiences grew. We created our social media platforms for two main purposes: to record the places we visited and to connect with like-minded individuals sharing a similar path. We have as of today produced over 200 Video’s on our YouTube Channel from across Europe.
Our engagement with social media platforms has been diverse. Facebook doesn't seem to resonate with our core audience, although we value the few friends we have on Facebook but it’s our least successful platform. Instagram proved to be more successful, where we now have nearly 3,000 followers across two accounts. We do enjoy following 2,636 accounts in return, as we believe in reciprocation. We carefully vet each follow request though, ensuring that we engage with channels that align with our interests, rather than chasing numbers.
Turning our attention to YouTube, we've achieved a remarkable milestone for us at least , of 6,000 subscribers and 700,000 views. What makes this achievement special to us , is our commitment to organic growth, steering clear of negativity, sensationalism, or a self-promotional approach, we didn’t want it to be about us but about the places we travel to. We've opted to forge our own path and we accept that this is not the quickest way to grow a channel.
Today, as we celebrate these milestones, we are devoted to creating better videos, enhancing our skills, and, most importantly, staying true to the values and standards that our channel was built upon. We appreciate you sharing this journey with us, for being a part of our adventures, and for following our travels.
Thank you for being a part of our life's journey.
Warm regards,
Helen and Martin
